The CableShoppe Inc.’s (CSI) vision is that the future broadband technologies will be based on two complementary solutions: wireless and optical communication. As it becomes very clear now that future wireless systems will be based on an all-IP network, CSI started to focus on emerging technologies like WiMAX.
Initially, CSI developed a WiMAX base station based on IEEE 802.16d standard through its diversified company, Logus Broadband Wireless Solutions, Inc. The base station called Beaver has gone through interoperability testing (IOT) with Siemens and Wavesat CPEs.
With the changing industry conditions, CSI later changed its course towards mobile WiMAX CPE development and with its OEM partner in the far-east, CSI offers mobile WiMAX CPEs for home and small business solutions, as well as high speed mobiles (Please refer below for product details)
CSI’s CPEs have gone through interoperability testing with major base stations’ vendors. Most recently, CSI performed IOT tests with NEC’s WiMAX BS IDU and completed IOTs for all of its WiMAX CPEs successfully. The test was performed in Brazil with AAA connections made to NEC head-quarter in Japan. CSI and NEC are now partnering for WiMAX offerings in Brazil.
